About the Watch Report Marketplace

The Watch Report Marketplace (WRMP) is a fun, easy, and very powerful way to buy and sell watches and watch accessories online. We think the following three things are what really make WRMP unique:

  1. WRMP was built from the ground up specifically for buying and selling watches. It isn't a sales forum where you have to constantly repost or "bump" your posts in order to keep them close to the top. Once you list a watch, it will continue to show up in browse and search results until you delete it.
  2. WRMP is a very powerful way to find watches. You can either find exactly what you're looking for by searching for a specific model, or leisurely browse by all kinds of criteria including brand, watch type, features, movement type, materials, etc.
  3. WRMP lets you create and build your reputation as a buyer and a seller. Since your online reputation is probably distributed across several sites on the web, you can add references to your account which point to your eBay feedback score, blog, or any other online profile. WRMP members can also endorse each other in order to let other members know who they trust.

So why buy and sell watches online? There are lots of reasons:

  • High quality watches often outlive our obsession with them. The watches that make us grin today may sit on the winder tomorrow. When that happens, why not pass your watch along so that it can make someone else grin (and, of course, reinvest that money back into your collection).
  • People's needs change. Maybe you're finally getting around to those aviation or SCUBA lessons you've always wanted to take, or you've been promoted from a cubicle to a corner office, and you want to look the part. Time to change watches!
  • Everyone's idea of the perfect watch is different, and finding it takes some trial and error. Keep searching — you'll find it someday! And if not, you'll have a heck of a lot of fun looking for it.
  • Watches tend to lose a lot of value once they leave an authorized dealer, so if you're looking to stretch your watch budget, buying secondhand makes a lot of sense. Most high-quality watches will be around long after we're gone, so who cares if it's been on someone else's wrist? Personally, I like watches with a little bit of history to them. I think of it as "character".

The Watch Report Marketplace is completely free for everyone. We think it's the best way to buy and sell watches online, and we hope you'll give it a try.
